Import units, contacts, and companies into DoorSpot from a CSV file by mapping each column in your spreadsheet to a DoorSpot field.
Go to the import tool
Go to Settings > Import, then choose Units, Contacts, or Companies and upload your CSV.
Steps
Upload your CSV file and choose the record type you're importing.
Map each column in your file to a DoorSpot field, or leave a column unmapped to skip it.
Choose how to run it: click Start Import to import your file right away, or click Dry Run to check it first without saving any data. A dry run shows a "Dry Run Started!" screen while it runs.
If you ran a dry run, open Import History once it finishes to see which rows would succeed and which would fail, with a reason for each failure.
Fix any failing rows in your source file, then re-run the dry run to confirm it's clean, or click Start Import when you're ready to bring the data in for real.
Address columns
Map a unit, contact, or company's address using separate Street Address, City, and State columns — DoorSpot no longer accepts a single combined "Full Address" column, since a free-text address can't be split reliably into its parts. If your file still has a Full Address column, split it into Street Address, City, and State columns before importing; a row that still carries a combined address in the Street Address column fails with a missing City/State error.
Good to know
DoorSpot matches an imported unit against an existing one by its street address, city, state, and zip, so an address that doesn't split correctly can cause a row to match the wrong unit — this is why separate address columns are required.
A blank Country column defaults to US.
Vendor columns don't create a contact unless a Contract Start Date is included, and contracts apply to corporate housing accounts only.
A dry run doesn't save any data, so you can run one as many times as you need before deciding to import for real.
