A reservation records a guest's stay in DoorSpot along with the billing, guest, and contact details. Create one to book a unit and keep that stay's invoices, payments, and communication together in one place.
Create a reservation from the calendar
The calendar is the fastest place to create a reservation and where most of your day-to-day work happens. Go to Bookings → Calendar.
Find the unit's row. To locate a unit quickly, use the calendar's filters (Availability, Location, Bedrooms, Bathrooms, Pet friendly, Unit tags, Reservation tags) or your browser's Find.
On that row, click and drag across the date range you want.
In the "What would you like to create?" dialog, click New Reservation. (The same dialog offers New Lead if you're tracking a potential stay that isn't confirmed yet.)
Complete the 5-step wizard
DoorSpot opens the Create Reservation wizard with the unit and dates already filled in. The same five steps — Unit, Contact, Rate, Guests, Review — run for every reservation, no matter where you started it.
1. Unit
Confirm the unit and the stay. Check-in date and Check-out date are required; check-in and check-out times default to your rental settings. Add a Sales Rep and Nights if you use them. Click Next.
2. Contact
Set the Billing Contact — the party responsible for payment. Choose Bill to: A Person or A Company, then either pick an existing contact or select No, create new and enter their details. Email address is required; phone is optional.
3. Rate
Reservation Rate is required. Pick an existing rate from the dropdown, or choose Add a new rate fee. Use Add Dated Rate if the price changes partway through the stay.
Under Additional Fees (optional) you can add Services and Taxes, or mark the reservation Tax Exempt.
Billing Configuration (optional) controls how the stay is billed: Rate Frequency, Billing Frequency, Period, Proration, and Net Terms.
4. Guests
Add the guest(s) staying in the unit. The billing party is listed by default — Select existing contact or Add new guest and enter their name and email, then click Save Guest.
5. Review
Check the summary — unit, check-in and check-out, billing contact, rate, guests, and billing settings. You can also record a Source (for example Airbnb or VRBO), a Source Ref, and Tags. Save to create the reservation.
What happens after you save
Your reservation appears on the calendar and in Bookings → Reservations, and becomes the anchor for that stay's invoices, payments, and guest communication. Each reservation carries a status — Pending, Confirmed, or Inquiry — and the Reservations list can be filtered by status or scoped to Active.
Open the reservation to see its Stakeholders (billing party and guests) and Billables, where you can Generate invoice.
Other ways to start a reservation
The calendar is the recommended path, but you can also start one from:
Bookings → Reservations, using the Create new button on the Reservations list.
A unit's page under Bookings → Properties/Units.
Each opens the same 5-step reservation wizard; only the starting point differs.
