Add and organize documents

Upload files and organize them into folders under Communications > Documents.

Upload files to your DoorSpot account and organize them into folders from Communications > Documents. Files added here are stored at the account level, separate from files attached to an individual conversation.

Steps

  1. Go to Communications > Documents in the left sidebar.

Communications > Documents in the DoorSpot left sidebar
  2. Click New file to add a file to the top-level list. To add a file straight into a folder instead, open the folder and click Add file, or click the ⋮ next to the folder and select Add file.

  3. In the Upload documents panel, click Click to upload or drag and drop the file. Files are limited to 10 MB.

  4. Optionally add File tags to make the file easier to search and filter for later.

  5. Click Save. The file appears in the list right away.

  6. To keep files organized, click New folder — or, inside an open folder, Add folder — enter a Folder name, and click Save. Click a folder's name to open it and see what's inside.

Good to know

  • Folders can be nested inside other folders. Each folder view shows the same Name, Owner, Modified, and Size columns as the top-level list.

  • Click the ⋮ next to any folder for more options: Details, Rename, Move to, Add file, Add folder, or Delete.

  • Each uploaded file is capped at 10 MB.

Troubleshooting

  • Can't find "New file" or "New folder": They're at the top of the Documents page, just above the file list. If you're inside a folder, these buttons add the file or folder there instead of at the top level.

  • Upload doesn't go through: Check that the file is under the 10 MB limit, then try again.
