All active communication in DoorSpot lives inside Conversations. If a contact hasn't reached out to you first, use this to send the first message from their CRM record.
Before you begin
You need the contact's email or phone number on file — the message channel you can use depends on what contact info they have saved.
Steps
Go to CRM > Contacts in the left sidebar.
Click the contact you want to message to open their profile.
Next to their name, click the envelope icon to start an email, or the message icon to start a text (SMS).
In the panel that opens, use the Email / SMS toggle at the bottom to confirm the channel — you can switch between them before sending.
For an email, add a Subject Line. For either channel, write your message in the text box, or click Draft with AI to generate a starting draft you can edit.
Optional: choose a saved message from the Message Template dropdown to pre-fill the body, then edit it before sending.
Click the send icon to deliver the message.
Good to know
Every message you send this way is saved to the contact's Activity tab and appears in Communications > Conversations, alongside any replies.
Once a contact has replied, you can continue the conversation from either their CRM profile or from Communications > Conversations directly.
