DoorSpot's units and properties have three operational states for units:
Active
A unit in normal operation. Active units:
Appear in standard unit lists, calendars and searches
Can accept reservations
Appear on calendars and maps
Are included in all reports and analytics
Can have tenants assigned for long-term leases
Inactive
A unit temporarily taken out of operation. Inactive units:
Are hidden from standard unit lists (and calendars) by default (i.e. they are filtered out)
Cannot accept new reservations
Retain all their data (tenants, history, settings)
Can be reactivated at any time
Are visible when you toggle the "Show inactive" filter in unit or calendar list
Use case: Units under renovation, seasonal properties taken off-market, or units temporarily unavailable but expected to return to service.
Deleted (Soft Delete)
A unit that has been removed from the system. Deleted units:
Are completely hidden from all lists and searches
Retain their data in the database for historical records
Cannot be accessed through the normal UI
Preserve audit history and past reservation/tenant records
Use case: Units permanently removed from your portfolio, sold properties, or units that should no longer appear anywhere in the system.

How to Change Unit Status
To delete a unit: Use the Actions menu on any unit and select "Delete." You will be asked to confirm. Note: You cannot delete a unit that has active tenants or active/future reservations—you must move out tenants or cancel reservations first. The delete dialog will warn you of active reservations and tenants and will not let you proceed with deletion.
To mark units as inactive/active: Select one or more units using the checkboxes in the unit list, then click the "Actions" dropdown that appears at the top of the page and choose "Mark as Active" or "Mark as Inactive."
Note: to see inactive units, just select the "show inactive" filter option from the unit filters in the unit list or calendar listing.
There is no individual "Archive" or "Mark as Inactive" option in the single-unit Actions menu. To change a unit's active status, you must:
1. Go to the Units list
2. Select the unit(s) using the checkbox
3. Use the bulk "Actions" menu to mark as active/inactive
