Gather feedback with Forms

Forms are a flexible tool for collecting information whenever you need it.

Forms can be used as surveys for guest feedback, questionnaires to capture details like pet information, or acquisition forms to onboard potential owners.

Unlike other areas of DoorSpot, Forms do not automatically sync with your CRM or reservations. However, all submissions are securely stored in your account, so you can review and reference them at any time.

This makes Forms a simple and effective way to capture structured data and keep important responses organized in one place.

Process flow

Communications → Forms → Add new → name the form → Create → add and configure fields → Save Form → Share the link → View submissions

Create a form

  1. From the left sidebar, go to Communications and select Forms. You'll see a list of your existing forms with their number of submissions, created date and last updated date.

  2. Click Add new in the top-right corner.

  3. On the Create a form page, enter a Form name (required), e.g. "Intake form for prospective tenants". Optionally add a Description to explain what the form is for.

  4. Click Create. The form builder (Edit form) opens.

Add fields to your form

  1. In the form builder, open the field panel ("Click a field to add to your form").

  2. Click a field to add it. Two types are available:

    • Common fields: Text Input, Select, Checkbox, Group and Divider.

    • Custom fields: the custom fields set up in your account, labeled by where they belong, e.g. Pets (Property), Lease Start Date (Unit) or t shirt size (Person).

  3. In the Field settings panel, set up the field:

    • Label (required): the question or field name the respondent sees.

    • Description: optional help text.

    • Placeholder: example text shown inside the empty field.

    • Default Value: a pre-filled answer.

    • Required: turn on if the field must be answered before submitting.

  4. Click Ok to add the field, or Cancel to discard it.

  5. Repeat for each field. On any field in the form you can use the icons to delete, duplicate or edit settings, and drag the handle on the left to reorder fields.

  6. Click Save Form (top right or bottom of the page). Clicking Cancel leaves without saving changes.

Manage, share and review submissions

On the Forms list, click the ⋯ menu next to a form to:

  • Edit: reopen the form builder to change the name, description or fields.

  • Preview: see the form as respondents will.

  • Share: copy the form's share link to your clipboard (you'll see "Form share link copied."). Paste the link into a message, email or template to send it.

  • View submissions: review every response received. The number in brackets shows how many submissions there are.

  • Delete: permanently remove the form.
