The Trial Balance, Balance Sheet, and Profit & Loss reports can each be viewed on a cash or accrual basis, computed from your single, accrual general ledger.
Go to a report
Go to Reports, then open Trial Balance, Balance Sheet, or Profit & Loss.
Switch basis
Use the Accrual / Cash selector at the top of the report. Accrual (the default) recognizes revenue and expenses as invoices and bills are issued. Cash recognizes them as payments actually move, dated by the payment, and excludes accounts receivable and accounts payable.
Profit & Loss by owner
Profit & Loss's Advanced Filters let you narrow either basis down to one or more owners, so you can see an owner's numbers on whichever basis you need. The separate P&L by Unit report (Reports > P&L by Unit) breaks the same numbers down per property, but it's accrual only — it doesn't have a basis toggle of its own.
Good to know
The Journal report always stays on an accrual basis — it's the source ledger the other reports derive from.
Where a unit's imported or historical data isn't complete enough to derive the cash figures precisely, a notice appears on the cash view so you know to double-check that unit.
Every DoorSpot account is kept on an accrual basis at the ledger level; the cash view is a way of looking at that same ledger, not a second set of books.
