Set your month-to-month rental default

Choose how month-to-month stays behave once a lease's initial term ends, under Settings → Rental Defaults.

Choose how a month-to-month stay's move-out date is calculated once a lease's initial term ends, under Settings → Rental Defaults.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings → Rental Defaults.

  2. Under Month-to-month settings, set the Default notice period (days).

  3. Choose Simple (notice date + days) or Require full billing period from Move-out date calculation.

  4. Click Save.

Good to know

  • Simple (notice date + days) sets the move-out date to the notice date plus the default notice period, with no additional requirement, and is the default for new accounts.

  • Require full billing period requires the stay to run through a full billing period before it can end.

  • Changing this setting only affects how new month-to-month stays behave going forward — it doesn't change reservations already in progress.

  • Existing accounts keep whichever option they already had selected; only new accounts start on Simple.
