Add a floorplan

Create a reusable floorplan template for a unit, and base new floorplans on it.

A floorplan is a reusable template that captures a unit's physical details — bedrooms, bathrooms, square footage, and more. Create one from a unit's detail page, then use it as the starting point for other similar units instead of re-entering the same information each time.

Add a floorplan

  1. Go to Bookings > Properties/Units, then open the unit you want to add a floorplan to.

  2. In the unit's info card, find the Floorplan field. If no floorplan is set yet, select add floorplan next to it. This opens the Create a floorplan window.

  3. Under Choose a unit, the current unit is selected by default. To base the new floorplan on a unit that already has one set, choose that unit instead.

  4. Enter a Name of floorplan. This is the only required field, and it's what you'll see when reusing the floorplan on other units later — for example, "2 Bed / 2 Bath with Balcony."

  5. Fill in the details that apply to this layout: Floorplan type (defaults to regular style), Bedrooms, Bathrooms, Half baths, and counts for offices, dining rooms, living rooms, kitchens, walk-in closets, closets, levels, basements, attics, and activity rooms (all default to 0). Add Sq ft, Cooling, Heating, Parking spaces, Washer/dryer, and Den/Office as needed.

  6. Select Save. DoorSpot creates the floorplan and shows it in the unit's info card.

Good to know

  • The floorplan Name is the only field DoorSpot requires — every other field can be left at its default and filled in later.

  • Choose a unit (step 3) lets you base a new floorplan on an existing unit's floorplan, which saves time when several units share the same layout.

Troubleshooting

  • No add floorplan link appears in the info card: the unit already has a floorplan set. See "Modify a floorplan" to change it instead of creating a new one.
